So each year the first year GDC students are given a film making project. This year we've all been given groups and random titles and have to respond the the title to come up with a one minute long film that will be shown at an Oscar Night in 9 weeks.
I will be working with Nikita, Phoebe and Tarris on the title 'Vanishing Valerie'. It's all supposed to be top secret so I don't know how much you'll get to see till the final piece but I'm very much looking forward to creating an awesome piece, girl power all the way.

New Term
So today was the first day of the summer term. We were given a project to research and prepare for over Easter that involves redesigning our favourite LP cover. I chose a Nina Simone cover, called Wild is the Wind. I really like Nina Simone and I was captured by the illustration on the front of the cover yet thought that the back really needed to be redesigned.
Today we had to bring in our initial ideas and directions that we would like to go in to show to Peter Chadwick. Based on the work I had produced over Easter Peter and I decided to develop two directions:

Typography minigolf
During the last few weeks of term we were put into groups and given a task to come up with a hole for a typographic golf course. My group was given Times New Roman to work with.

Motivate me
So I know I've been a very bad blogger recently, and I'm very sorry! I struggled with motivation a lot last term and I'm hoping to stay on the wagon in the near future!
The other day I took a trip back to London (I'm home for the holidays) to go to the Pick me up Graphic art Fair at summerset house, an I can't tell you how much i was inspired! The quality of illustrations and designs on display was outstanding and I couldn't help but feel a bit deflated by the quality of my work! The illustrators that I was particularly inspired by were Sarah Maycock, Kristjana S Williams, Yuko Michishita and Niki Pilkington, Check out that girl Power!
